New distance record for the Tesla Semi

During independent tests in September conducted by Pepsi, Tesla’s electric truck traveled 1731 kilometers in one day.

Pepsi continues to praise the merits of the shiny Tesla Semi trucks deployed at its facilities. As the exclusive partner of the manufacturer, the company now operates 100 Semi trucks developed by Tesla and conducts real-world tests that confirm the electric truck can indeed boast the announced ranges, providing a significant advantage over its competitors.

The American lemonade company began equipping itself with electric trucks in 2022 with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 while ensuring efficient delivery of goods. Each semi-truck is capable of traveling 800 kilometers on a single charge. The record was thus set in one day, with two drivers taking turns respecting rest times and incorporating a normal charging phase.

The truck started its journey just after midnight with a battery charged to 95% according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. During the delivery, it stopped briefly to partially recharge and continued on its way. Data analysis showed that the Tesla Semi spent 81.8% of its time on the road. Additionally, it was demonstrated that the truck traveled at over 80 km/h 92.6% of the time.

The Tesla Semi is still in the testing phase, and large-scale production will only begin once the Nevada Giga Factory’s production line is scaled up to accommodate this impressive vehicle.
