The Morris JE finally on the road in 2024?

The British company Morris Commercial plans to start production of the battery electric van Morris JE in 2024.

Inspired by the Morris J van, this electric vehicle promises a range of up to 400 km. Sorry, but we can’t provide much more information because even though development began in 2019, not much is known about this unique vehicle.

What we do know is that the Morris JE features an aluminum chassis and a body made from recycled carbon fiber, giving it a payload capacity of 1,150 kg and a volume of 6.5 cubic meters. With its generous range, it aims to attract artisans and small businesses, who will be drawn to the visual appeal of this unconventional electric van.

Unfair Competition

With a starting price expected to be around 75,000 euros, the Morris JE should generate some interest even if it is not the only neo-retro style electric van available. If we mention ID. Buzz, you know what we are talking about.

It indeed seems unlikely that a relatively obscure British brand could compete with the giant Volkswagen in the same market segment. And what about the competition from utility vehicles by Renault, Peugeot, and Ford, which are less distinctive but also much cheaper!
