The BMW CE02 offers a leasing option at €99/month

The electric mini bike CE02 from BMW, available from the age of 14, is still expensive to purchase but offers an attractive Long-Term Rental option.

If you’re not familiar with BMW electric scooters, just know that there are generally two versions of the same model. With or without power, with or without a license. This is true for the best-seller CE04, whose 125 cc equivalent, available to holders of a car license A1 + 7 hours of training, is limited to 15 horsepower. Already sufficient to make it a great companion in the city.

There is now, since a few months, an even smaller and nimbler product, and also much cheaper: the CE02. A new concept of electric mini bike with astonishing suspension comfort thanks to very large travel. And again, two versions are available: with or without a license, in 125 or 50 cc equivalent. This second version is therefore accessible from the age of 14 with the BSR (AM license). The price is nearly the same once the ecological bonus is deducted: -900 euros for the 125 cc version and -100 euros for the 50 cc, resulting in 7850 euros and 7650 euros respectively. And if you opt for a cash purchase, BMW adds a 900 euros discount, which becomes quite interesting!

99 euros/month, interesting?

Despite everything, at 6950 euros once current bonuses and discounts are applied, this BMW CE02 is not affordable for everyone. It remains a small bike whose promised range of 95 km (rather 80 in reality) does not allow for escape from the cities. Therefore, the idea of renting it seems relevant.

BMW currently offers a long-term rental (LLD) option for 36 months and 15,000 kilometers for the 125 cc version. In this scheme, the 900 euros discount has disappeared, but not the ecological bonus. It is this bonus that allows the first rent to drop from 999 to just 99 euros, followed by 35 other rents of the same amount.

The extension of warranty beyond the 2 years of age of the BMW CE02 is included in the offer. Ultimately, at the end of the 3 years of rental, this mini bike will have cost you 3564 euros. Considering natural depreciation and the evolution of electric technology in the same timeframe, the idea of not purchasing the vehicle makes a lot of sense.

BMW does not communicate any offers on the CE02 AM version, which is slightly cheaper.
