The incredible all-electric motorcycle from Motowatt

Concentration of innovations, and the result of four years of R&D, the Motowatt W1X offers a modular powertrain with 2 motors.

Since 2023, Motowatt has been part of the France 2030 initiative implemented by the French government. This plan aims to support innovative actors across the territory who want to contribute to “giving France a head start” through innovation. The challenge was successfully met by brothers Henri and Olivier Rabatel, who give us one of the most spectacular vehicles seen in recent years.

Two motors and as many driven wheels

The W1X, Motowatt’s first electric motorcycle, aims for carbon-neutral mobility that is still full of sensations. The management and distribution of torque on 2 motors, each in a wheel, provide enhanced stability and safety for this 178 kg motorcycle. Its two axial flux motors, entirely designed by Motowatt, have no friction parts, making them extremely reliable and ensuring long-term durability.

It requires no periodic maintenance because it has no transmission system and very few wear parts. The W1X also stands out for its very low operating and maintenance costs.

The motorcycle according to Motowatt

Without a gear change or clutch system, the W1X is driven like a scooter. Its 130 km range makes it a perfect vehicle for daily urban trips. Its simplified handling makes it accessible to everyone with an A1 or B license (mandatory 7-hour training), whether they are experienced motorcyclists or not.

The W1X will be officially unveiled to the public at the Lyon Two Wheels Show, from March 7 to 10, 2024, with deliveries starting in January 2025. Pre-orders will open in March 2024 on the manufacturer’s official website at a price of €15,000.
