Renault Trucks E-Tech T: 600 km of electric range
This page is translated from the original post "Renault Trucks E-Tech T : 600 km d’autonomie électrique" in French.

The electric truck from Renault Trucks immediately positions itself at the top of the heavy-duty tractor hierarchy worldwide.
The figure was anticipated, and it has just been announced. Starting from the second half of 2025, Renault Trucks will open orders for the new version of its electric model, the E-Tech T. Offering a range of 600 km per charge, this vehicle marks a significant step forward in the decarbonization of long-distance transportation Made in France.
European manufacturers have no choice but to accelerate their transition to decarbonized delivery solutions, also encouraged by the European Union… which is threatening with massive sanctions. In a forced march, the sector must reinvent itself quickly.
Mercedes, Volvo, Iveco and Ford are already in the starting blocks, while Tesla Semi is still very far from arrival due to the lack of a production plant and its size which restricts European road access. This leaves, notably, Renault and others free to advance. As of now, electric trucks Renault Trucks already on the road have prevented the emission of 29,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
The Price Challenge!
The equation remains complex for transporters caught between a very high fuel price… and a purchase price for electric tractors twice that of a thermal equivalent. But each year, an electric heavy-duty truck could save up to 80,000 euros in fuel. Financial support (subsidies, zero-interest loans, etc.) must therefore help transporters transition, and the rest should follow.
The question of charging infrastructure, which is currently being deployed, also remains.
Regarding the Renault Trucks E-Tech T, its promised autonomy of 600 kilometers per charge largely relies on innovative technology: the e-axle or electric axle. This solution integrates motors and transmission directly on the rear axle, freeing up space between the frame rails to add more batteries.
A Range Adapted to All Needs
Specifically designed for long-distance journeys, this new Renault Trucks E-Tech T will complement the existing electric offer without replacing it. Renault Trucks will continue to offer a variety of ranges, configurations, and equipment to meet the diverse needs of carriers.
“We are not engaged in a race for autonomy,” emphasizes Emmanuel Duperray, Senior Vice President of Electromobility at Renault Trucks. “Over-sized batteries impact payload, increase operating costs, and add to the environmental footprint. The challenge is to rethink decarbonized logistics by optimizing vehicle use and reducing costs per kilometer.”
Renault Trucks thus advises its customers to adjust battery size to their actual needs and offers charging strategies tailored to them. “With our current production models, we already achieve daily performances beyond 700 km,” adds Emmanuel Duperray.
Orders for this exceptional model will open in the second half of 2025. Production will be handled by the Bourg-en-Bresse plant, which has been assembling Renault Trucks’ high-end electric ranges since late 2023.
