What will be the next Hybrid Porsches?
This page is translated from the original post "Quelles seront les prochaines Porsche Hybrides ?" in French.

It is already known that upcoming Porsches will be hybrid, but the brand seems to be leaning towards revolutionized, atypical models.
Rumors about the future of Porsche lead straight to ultra-sporty models that could benefit from a massive boost thanks to hybridization, while reducing their carbon footprint. The future GT2 comes to mind, in particular. For these cars, the additional weight of the batteries is no longer a major issue, as the extensive use of carbon fiber compensates for this gap. Although expensive, this material perfectly fits into the strategy for high-end models aimed at wealthy customers who desire the best in performance and technology. In this perspective, extreme models like the extraordinary 911 Dakar appear as ideal candidates.
Porsche indeed plans to relaunch the 911 Dakar in 2026, adopting a hybrid system. This unique vehicle, which redefined the concept of an off-road sports car upon its release in 2022, could benefit from the “T-Hybrid” powertrain introduced in the 911 GTS (generation 992.2). This system combines a 3.6-liter flat-six engine, an electric turbo, and an electric motor integrated into the transmission, providing a total power of 532 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque. Compared to the previous version’s 473 horsepower and 570 Nm, the improvement is significant.
The future 911 Dakar would retain a raised ground clearance, reinforced bumpers, and all-wheel drive. With the hybrid system, it promises to be even faster, even if the previous model already reached 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. Additionally, Porsche will offer customization options through its Sonderwunsch program, as well as exclusive color schemes.
These two models are expected by the end of 2025 and confirm Porsche’s ambition to redefine the limits of its sports cars while adopting eco-friendly and technologically advanced hybrid solutions.
