Dacia Bigster GPL

The cherished Essence / GPL dual-fuel range from Dacia receives a significant new addition with the Bigster.

Dacia launches the Bigster mild hybrid G-140, a model positioned in the compact SUV segment with a comprehensive offering focused on comfort and practicality. Depending on the chosen trim level, a wide range of equipment is available. The Bigster mild hybrid G-140 is offered from €24,990, with sales expected to start from June 3, 2025. This engine option is available starting from the Essential trim level.

The Bigster introduces a new engine configuration for Dacia: a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine combining Essence/GPL dual-fuel and a 48V mild hybrid system. The hybrid system assists the internal combustion engine during start and acceleration phases, contributing to smoother driving and improved energy efficiency. The vehicle can run on either petrol or GPL, with each fuel having its own tank.

A cleaner fuel, but above all cheaper!

The use of GPL allows for an average reduction of 10% in CO₂ emissions compared to an equivalent non-hybrid petrol engine. With its two tanks (50 liters of petrol and 50 liters of GPL), the Bigster offers a range of up to 1,450 km. The GPL tank is integrated under the trunk floor to preserve the loading space. The switch from one fuel to another takes place automatically and smoothly, via a switch incorporated into the dashboard.

For the same trim level, the price of the Bigster mild hybrid G-140 is the same as that of the mild hybrid 140 version, with a tax advantage related to the reduction of CO₂ emissions.

Since 2010, Dacia has sold over one million GPL vehicles. The manufacturer is the only one to offer a dual-fuel petrol/GPL engine across its entire range except for 100% electric models. In the first quarter of 2025, Dacia holds over 67% of the GPL market share in Europe. In France, one-third of the brand’s customers opt for this technology.
