Troopy deploys its Yamaha electric scooters in Paris

After long use of Tricity, operator Troopy has decided to abandon internal combustion engines. From now on, it will only offer electric scooters for rent.
With this new offering, Troopy is competing with Cityscoot, Yego, and Cooltra, which also have sharing electric scooters in Paris. But the newcomer has something its competitors lack: 125 cc equivalents. Specifically, Yamaha E01 scooters capable of reaching 90 km/h top speed. To use this model, you’ll need to be at least 20 years old. Naturally, a B driving license and proper training will also be required.
Troopy’s fleet also includes Yamaha NEO’s, electric scooters limited to 45 km/h. Categorized as 50 cc equivalents, these models are accessible from age 18 with just a BSR or B license.

A cost per minute that depends on the chosen scooter
Like its competitors, Troopy charges its service by the minute. Expect to pay 38 cents per minute for the NEO’s, and 48 cents per minute for the E01. Prepaid packs costing €30 and €60 give free minutes. Additionally, there is a subscription at €9, which reduces the cost per minute by 10%.
Troopy’s electric scooters can carry two people. All are equipped with skirts, a smartphone holder, and two helmets in sizes L and M. As always with this type of service, it’s recommended to carry gloves.
Troopy’s service operates through a mobile app. The number of scooters deployed around the city is gradually increasing. The operator plans to put 100 E01s into service by November and over 1,000 NEO’s by December.
