The most Italian of Hondas celebrates its 25th anniversary

The Honda SH125i celebrates a quarter of a century of production, still rooted in the European urban landscape.

Launched in 2001, the Honda SH125i reaches the milestone of 25 years of production. Designed and manufactured in Italy, this large-wheeled scooter has gradually established itself as a reference in many European cities, where it meets the constraints of daily mobility.

Offered at under €4000, the SH125i rests on an unchanging formula since its beginnings: compact size, flat floor, and 16-inch wheels favoring stability on uneven roads. These features, combined with controlled fuel consumption and ease of use, explain its widespread distribution. Since 2020, it has regularly ranked among the best-selling scooters in Europe, with over 20,000 units sold each year.

For the 2026 model year, the updates remain measured. The model adopts a slightly revised style, marked by cleaner lines, without breaking away from the historical visual identity of the SH range. Equipment improves with the integration of a 4.2-inch color TFT screen and Honda RoadSync connectivity, in addition to the already widespread LED lighting.

Adjustments also concern manufacturing. In continuation of the work done on the “Vetro” version, the SH125i incorporates more sustainable materials in some components, like the license plate holder or the exhaust protection. The goal is to reduce the environmental impact of the model without deeply altering its architecture.
