Segway KickScooter P100SE statique

The American brand is upgrading with its new electric scooters Segway P65E and P100SE, which feature longer range.

For many people, Segway still evokes hoverboards, which are still on sale but mostly aimed at tourism. Since merging with the Chinese company Ninebot, the American brand has diversified its offering. In addition to the electric scooters E110 and E125S, which our specialist recently tested, as well as monoroues, it is heavily focused on KickScooter electric scooters, with over 10 million units already produced.

Premium Segway Electric Scooters

After models for the general public, in the series D, E, or F, the brand is now moving into the premium segment. This was evident with the introduction of the GT2P and GT1E models. The new P series from Segway offers a premium range, featuring scooters priced over €1,000 aimed at a more demanding clientele who want to travel long distances. The platform is wider and the handlebars higher for increased comfort, ensuring “a safer ride”.

With 10.5-inch wheels, Segway relies on all-terrain tires “SegPower Cross Season,” with a gel layer instead of air. This offers the advantage of a “lower risk of puncture and less maintenance.” Another important feature is the rear disc brake in addition to the electric brake.

The lighting on the new Segway P models includes a 10 W front light, turn signals, and a rear light with stop functions. Finally, the electric scooters add a USB-C port under the handlebar for phones, and unlocking is via NFC (or the app).

Range and Price of the Segway P65E and P100SE

The P65E is distinguished by a 500 W motor, with 980 W peak, allowing it to climb slopes up to 22%. Its battery enables a range of 65 kilometers, hence the name. The Segway P100SE benefits from a 100-kilometer range. Its motor is more powerful, at 650 W continuous and 1,350 W peak, with a maximum incline of 23%. It has a dedicated dual-arm suspension system at the front and rear, and a high ground clearance.

Both models are available for pre-order for a few days, with the following prices:

  • Segway P65E : €1,199
  • Segway P100SE : €1,799
