The smart idea from Segway to increase the battery life of its electric scooters

Segway-Ninebot now offers an external battery designed to extend the range of electric scooters.

Compatible with the Ninebot F3 / F3 Pro, Max G3, and Segway GT3 E models, this accessory allows for more miles traveled without recharging, an interesting solution for longer trips or regular users.

Each kit includes the necessary adapters for a simple and secure installation. On the Ninebot F3 / F3 Pro, the combination of internal and external batteries can reach nearly 945 Wh, with a full recharge time ranging from 4 to 19.5 hours depending on the charger used. The Max G3 and GT3 E also benefit from enhanced range, with recharge times between 2.5 and 9.5 hours. This battery is therefore a complementary solution for those who want to avoid frequent stops for recharging.

A comfort that comes at a cost

The external battery features an intelligent management system (BMS) that protects against overcharging, short circuits, and overheating. Certified IPX7, it is resistant to water splashes and rain. A 20 W USB-C port allows for charging a smartphone or another device during the ride. Weighing 4.1 kg and with a lifespan of approximately 800 cycles, it combines range, safety, and durability.

The battery easily attaches between the deck and the steering column without hindering folding or transportation. It remains stable and well-balanced, integrating into the design of the scooter in a discreet and functional manner.
