Segway-Ninebot Unveils 3 New Electric Scooters at MWC 2023

The Sino-American manufacturer Segway-Ninebot unveils new electric scooters with the G2 MAX, F2, and E2, responding to Xiaomi.

Segway-Ninebot had assured us that there would be something new in Spring 2023. In addition to a new scooter or electric go-kart for circuits, the range of electric scooters welcomes three new families: G2, F2, and E2. Before presenting the models, all the new features incorporate turn signals into the handlebar.

Ninebot KickScooter G2 MAX, the response to Xiaomi?

Among the different models, the Max G2 is probably the most interesting, replacing the Max G30. The rear motor delivers 450 W and 900 W peak power, capable of tackling slopes of 22% at 25 km/h. The battery, with a capacity of 551 Wh (or 15.3 Ah), would allow for an average of 50 km, and up to 70 km at a steady 15 km/h.

But the highlight of this Ninebot scooter is its double suspension, hydraulic at the front and double spring at the rear. As for the wheels, the tires retain gel technology, called RideyLong here, airless, with a front drum brake and electromagnetic rear brake. The weight is quite high, at 24.3 kg, making it less portable for most people. Good point: the water/dust protection is IPX5.

Double suspension, 900 W battery power close to 550 Wh, 70 km range—those words sound familiar… Because this could very well be a threat to its designated rival, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra. Remaining to be seen is the price of the Ninebot KickScooter Max G2, which Ninebot-Segway Europe CEO Dennis Hardholt promises will be “below €1,000”.

The Ninebot F2 and E2

The F Series is also evolving at Segway-Ninebot. After a rushed integration of turn signals on the F25I and F40I, the new generation arrives with the F2. Be aware, as the naming convention is changing. No longer based solely on range; the lineup now includes the F2, F2 Plus, and F2 Pro. The base Ninebot KickScooter F2 offers a continuous power of 400 W and a peak of 800 W, via a rear motor. The F2 Plus increases the range to approximately 55 km versus 40 km, thanks to a 460 Wh battery versus 367 Wh. With 10-inch wheels like its little sisters, the F2 Pro features a front suspension upgrade, the G2 Max motor, and an electronic horn.

The new electric scooters in the E Series are now part of the catalog, featuring a full-width display. The Ninebot KickScooter E2 is smaller in length, with 8-inch wheels and tubeless tires (without gel). It offers a continuous power of 250 W and up to 450 W in the wheel, with a maximum speed of 20 km/h. It can handle slopes up to 12% and claims a 25 km range thanks to its small 220 Wh battery. Its main advantage is the weight, just over 14 kg. The E2 Plus slightly increases power to 300 W (500 W max). Still, no price details are available yet.

Finally, for children, Segway-Ninebot has designed the new C2 and C2 Pro. The second stands out with an adjustable handlebar height, while the app—intended for parents—limits the maximum speed.
