Bugatti: Its second electric vehicle produces less than 1 horsepower

The hypercar manufacturer Bugatti surprises everyone by announcing an electric vehicle… with less than 1 horsepower!

You got it right, Bugatti is launching an electric scooter. More precisely, the manufacturer entrusted the design and manufacturing to a partner, the American company Bytech. They market, for example, Bluetooth speakers under the iHome brand and laptop cases from Case Logic. They have already designed an electric scooter for Fiat.

The Bugatti scooter features a 700-watt electric motor, that is 0.95 horsepower, capable of reaching 30 km/h. (But it is probably limited to 25 km/h in France.) Its removable 36-volt battery with a capacity of 360 Wh provides a range of 35 km.

The vehicle stands out for one feature: it is equipped with a rear ABS braking system, a rarity on scooters.

The price and launch date have not been officially announced at the time of publication.

Electricity at Bugatti

To conclude, note that this is not the manufacturer’s first electric vehicle. In fact, in 2019, they launched the Bugatti Baby II, an electric car with 10 kW or 13.6 hp that reaches 68 km/h, a 0.75 scale reincarnation of the Bugatti Type 35, sold for 30,000 euros.

Bugatti is also preparing an electrified hypercar with Rimac, the Croatian startup that bought it in 2021, but initially it will be hybrid, not fully electric.
