The Navigo Liberté+ Pass Arrives on Smartphones

Starting June 23, 2025, users in the Île-de-France region will be able to use the Navigo Liberté+ service directly from their smartphones.

Accessible via the Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) app on Android and iOS, this dematerialized Navigo Liberté+ aims to further facilitate daily travel in the Paris region.

For those resistant to any commitment or occasional travelers, Navigo Liberté+ allows travel throughout Île-de-France without a fixed monthly subscription. Users pay only for the trips actually taken, with a summary billing at the end of the month. The fares are €1.60 for a bus or tram journey and €1.99 for the metro, RER, or train (excluding trips to the airports). Transfers are free for 2 hours between metro, RER, and express tram, and for 1 hour and 30 minutes between bus and tram. A daily cap limits expenditures to €12, which is the price of a Navigo Day pass.

A customizable Navigo with no commitment

To activate the service, simply install or update the IDFM app, then subscribe to Navigo Liberté+ from the “Purchase” tab. The contract is signed directly in the app. Once activated, trip validation is done by simply bringing the smartphone close to the validator, just like with a physical Navigo pass.

Individuals already registered for the service with a physical Navigo card must subscribe to a new contract if they wish to switch to smartphone use. Direct transfer of an existing contract is not possible. It is recommended, once the mobile activation is done, to no longer use the physical card to avoid any double validation or billing errors.

This evolution aligns with Île-de-France Mobilités’ commitment to making public transport more accessible, flexible, and connected. With their smartphone acting as a ticket, users gain convenience and autonomy.
