A Month to Share Your Thoughts on Public Transportation in Île-de-France

Île-de-France Mobilités is launching a major public consultation on its Mobility Plan 2030. Behind this wonderful initiative lies a lovely ecological vision, but what about the practical expectations of users?

From February 28 to March 31, 2025, all residents of Île-de-France are invited to participate in the public consultation on the Mobility Plan. This project, adopted in March 2024, aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26% by 2030, through a 15% decrease in car travel and an increase in trips by public transport and cycling. With 14 strategic axes and 46 planned actions, this plan positions itself as a pillar of ecological transition.

A survey to do well or to do right?

Citizens will be able to share their opinions via an online platform, by mail, or during sessions at 34 dedicated venues. A large public meeting is also scheduled for March 13. Contributions will be analyzed by an inquiry commission, which will propose potential modifications before the final approval of the plan by the Regional Council in September 2025.

While the ecological goal of the plan is commendable, we must not forget the practical expectations of users. By broadening the debate, some would like to see more initiatives focused on accessibility for people with disabilities, a priority on transport cleanliness, an assured minimum service, or commitments to punctuality. These elements, just as crucial as emission reductions, directly influence the daily experience of travelers and their engagement with change.

The public consultation offers a unique opportunity to co-create sustainable and inclusive mobility. It is to be hoped that all voices, including those expressing practical needs, will be heard and taken into account.
