Olympic Flame Paris 2024

The Olympic Flame will soon embark aboard the Maxi Banque Populaire XI for a magnificent ultra-marine journey.

The Olympic Flame has begun its journey from Athens to Paris. While relay runners will take turns running with the torch in hand to mark this symbol-rich journey, the flame will also benefit from multiple modes of transportation to connect to the French capital. On land and of course at sea—could there be a more beautiful form of green mobility than sailing?

From June 7 to 17, 2024, the Olympic Flame will undertake an incredible epic traveling through 6 overseas territories located across three of the five oceans on Earth: in Guyana in the Atlantic Ocean (June 9), in New Caledonia (June 11) in the Pacific Ocean, the last territory to join the Olympic Flame Relay adventure, in Réunion in the Indian Ocean (June 12), in French Polynesia (June 13), as well as in Guadeloupe (June 15) and Martinique (June 17) in the Atlantic Ocean.

This Ocean Relay will be represented by a major sporting event: the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean aboard the Maxi Banque Populaire XI, a renowned Ultim skippered by Armel Le Cléac’h and Sébastien Josse. The Olympic Flame will depart from Brest in a spirit of celebration and gathering, during a grand parade. Le Cléac’h, Josse, and a first crew composed of Olympic 400m champion Marie Perec, Miss France 2013 Marine Lorphelin, actor-director Alexis Michalik, and Chef Hugo Roellinger will carry the Olympic Flame to the Antilles for a historic moment. The Ultim will arrive on June 15 in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), then change crew and head towards Martinique on June 16. This second crew will include fencer Laura Flessel, swimmer Coralie Balmy, skipper Kéni Pipérol-Dampied, and surfer Thomas Debierre.

May Eole favor them, and may the celebration be beautiful!
