Automaker Polestar and naval artisan Candela unveil the next phase of their partnership: the Candela C-8 Polestar.
Combining Polestar’s Scandinavian vision of luxury electric vehicle design with Candela’s innovative electric hydrofoil boat, the new C-8 Polestar edition presents an enticing vision of what sustainable electric mobility can become.
On the technical side, the maximum 50 kW (68 hp) electric motor enables the C-8 to reach a top speed of 30 knots. When cruising at an average speed of 20 knots, its power is limited to 20 kW, allowing for a 2.5 hours of autonomy. According to Candela, the motor is maintenance-free up to 3,000 hours of use, which allows for significant savings!
Design markers include a solid light gray tone, specially designed upholstery, and hydrofoils painted in iconic Swedish gold.
“Candela’s hydrofoil technology is a paradigm shift for sustainable performance in the maritime industry. Just like the first time behind the wheel of an electric car, you instantly feel that this is the future when the boat “takes off” – and now with the special golden details we proudly display on our cars,” explains Maximilian Missoni, head of design at Polestar.
