Ryse Aero: eVTOL for Farmers Demonstrated at CES 2023

Ryse Aero showcases its fully operational eVTOL before the first customer deliveries, to replace kerosene-powered airplanes and make life easier for some farmers.

With the Recon, Ryse Aero Technologies positions itself in the still nascent eVTOL market – abbreviation for electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The device, already functional, will be displayed at CES in Las Vegas (from January 5 to 8). Demonstration flights will even be organized during the event. According to the company, this marks a first in the history of the American trade show.

The Recon was mainly designed for the rural world. Light, maneuverable, and capable of landing almost anywhere, it could make the lives of farmers or vineyard owners managing large estates easier. The aircraft is powered by 6 electric motors, enabling it to fly at around 100 km/h. Its batteries, also six in number, would guarantee approximately forty kilometers of range.

Soon the time for the first deliveries

With a fairly simple design (for an eVTOL), the Recon could, according to its creators, be produced on a large scale and thus sold at a reasonable price (around $150,000). Its other major advantage is that it could be piloted without a specific license in the United States. Ryse admits, however, that training is necessary, while specifying that it will not be lengthy. Handling the vehicle would indeed be very simple.

Ryse Aero has already had the opportunity to fly its eVTOL in the past. Its appearance at CES 2023 comes as the first customers are supposedly about to receive their units. The Ohio-based company had announced that deliveries would begin in the second quarter of 2023. Since this topic was not addressed in the latest communication, it’s hard to tell whether they managed to stick to their schedule. What is certain, however, is that it is currently not possible to place a reservation on the site.
