The French manufacturer will present for the first time in flight the legendary Renault Caudron Rafale during the airshow Le Temps des Hélices.
Renault is setting its sights on aviation again. At the airshow “Le Temps des Hélices,” organized on May 23 and 24 in La Ferté-Alais, the French brand will showcase several iconic vehicles from its history… and especially a plane that has become legendary: the Renault Caudron Rafale C.460. Restored by The Originals Renault – La Collection, the aircraft from the 1930s will be presented in flight for the first time to the public.
Passion Air-Ground
This return to the skies will also serve to remind us of the historical links between Renault and aviation. From the early 20th century, the brand became interested in aircraft engines before acquiring Caudron in 1933. This period was marked by research into aerodynamics and speed records, notably driven by engineer Marcel Riffard.
On the ground, several mechanical curiosities will be displayed: the 40 CV of records, the streamlined Nervasport, the spectacular Riffard Tank, and the turbine-powered Étoile Filante, capable of exceeding 300 km/h in the 1950s. Prototypes that have become emblematic of Renault’s technological audacity.
