The Kia PV5 Cargo is Hiring at Orange

Kia PV5 Orange

Orange is testing the new all-electric Kia PV5 Cargo, and it smells like a green revolution among the technicians!

Orange has just gotten its hands on the PV5 Cargo, Kia’s brand new 100% electric van to put it to the test in real conditions. The idea? To see if this little gem truly meets the everyday needs of the technical teams that travel the roads to repair our lines and our boxes.

Kia has lent Orange the L2H1 version equipped with a 71.2 kWh battery. On paper, it offers up to 416 km of range in the WLTP cycle. But beware, the van has been fully customized by SD Services to perfectly match the technicians’ needs: tools, equipment, everything must fit and remain easily accessible in the field.

A tough test

The tests will last several months and take on the feel of a road trip: a real tour of France across five different regions. The Orange teams will be testing it in all daily situations, usual trips, emergency interventions, charging breaks… The goal is to check the range in real conditions, the loading capacity, and above all, if the van remains operational from morning to evening without complaint.

The Kia PV5 Cargo is the first 100% electric utility vehicle from the brand. It opens up the new PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) family and is based on the modular E-GMP.S platform. A major advantage: its ultra-fast charging (10 to 80% in less than 30 minutes). It can carry up to 790 kg of payload and offers a volume of 4.4 m³, enough to hold all the necessary equipment.

And the van doesn’t come empty-handed: it has already won the title of International Van of the Year 2026 (IVOTY 2026) and even holds a Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by a fully loaded electric utility vehicle: 693.38 km on a single charge. Not bad, right?
