TotalEnergies Cuts Fuel Prices for May Holidays

While criticism towards oil companies is frequent, the initiative announced by TotalEnergies deserves to be highlighted for its direct impact on the purchasing power of motorists.

In a context marked by geopolitical tensions related to the crisis in the Middle East and the rising oil prices, TotalEnergies has chosen to extend its price capping policy for fuels across all of its 3,300 service stations in France. Specifically, prices have remained fixed at €1.99/L for gasoline and €2.25/L for diesel since April 8, with a clear commitment: any drop in international prices will be immediately reflected at the pump.

But it is particularly the special operation set up for the long weekends in May — Labor Day, Victory 1945, and Ascension — that draws attention. During these periods of high traffic on the roads, prices will be standardized at €1.99/L for gasoline and €2.09/L for diesel throughout the entire network.

TotalEnergies Acts as Firefighters

The contrast with certain competitors, particularly on highways, is striking. Price differences can reach up to 50 cents per liter, a significant discrepancy for regular motorists or families traveling. In this pricing landscape often deemed opaque, this strategy stands out clearly.
