Hyundai Nexo hydrgène Rallye Mont Blanc Morzine

From September 5 to 7, it is possible to see a series hydrogen vehicle in action at the opening of the 76th Mont-Blanc Morzine Rally.

Made available by the company Hympulsion and in the colors of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, this vehicle aims to demonstrate that the hydrogen mobility solution works perfectly, and in an autonomous manner, since refueling will be done at the stations of the Hympulsion network (6 open to date in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: Chambéry, Clermont Ferrand, Moutiers, St-Egrève, St-Priest, and Vénissieux). The range of this vehicle, a HYUNDAI Nexo, is around 600 kilometers.

“As a member of the commission on alternative energies of the French Automobile Sports Federation, I have always been sensitive to the positive changes that innovation can bring,” admits Philippe Vaness, a long-time member of the organizing committee of the event. “We were the first to welcome battery electric vehicles to our rally, and this time again, we will be the first French organization to have the pleasure of seeing a series vehicle running on hydrogen. It’s a signal of the future in which we believe.”

The ambition of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region is to demonstrate that one can drive hydrogen vehicles under conditions as extreme as a French Rally Championship event. By offering thrill-seekers the chance to test their reflexes in a clean vehicle set against the stunning backdrop of the Mont-Blanc Morzine Rally, the Region showcases the connection it has to the mountains… but with meaning.
