Vinci Autoroutes: 7 New Ultra-Fast Electra Charging Stations

Although the 100,000 charging points mark has not yet been reached, Vinci Autoroutes announces the installation of 112 new chargers in 2023.

This is the nightmare for drivers undertaking long trips on the highway. Running out of energy with their electric vehicle, which generally has high consumption at high speeds. On various applications provided by your charging operator, there is a route planner. This helps avoid power outages and, if necessary, to exit the highway to refuel on the secondary network.

The situation should improve on highways in the coming weeks, with the addition of 112 new charging points on the Vinci network. Electra is the operator responsible for this upgrade. They will coordinate the deployment of 7 new ultra-fast stations, capable of handling up to 300 kW.

Where are Electra’s fast charging stations located?

Here are the details by region:

• 14 charging stations at Latitude 45 rest area, on the A7, north of Valence towards Lyon,
• 12 stations at Garonne rest area, a bidirectional site on A62 between Agen and Toulouse,
• 8 stations at each Carcassonne Arzens rest area (North and South), on A61 near Carcassonne,
• 4 stations at Gignac Rebuty rest area, on A55, between Marseille and Lake Berre,
• 4 stations at Vitrolles rest area, at the entrance of A7 from Marseille.

Stations for a better (sunny) radius of action

Vinci Autoroutes and Electra also announce that these future stations will feature canopies equipped with photovoltaic panels, whose production will be fed back into the energy grid.

“These seven new stations deployed by Electra on our network enhance the dense network we already offer to support electric vehicle drivers and allow them to travel on vacation with peace of mind. With Electra, we also diversify the existing offerings, giving our customers the opportunity to choose the most suitable option based on their expectations and needs,” explains Raphaël Ventre, Marketing and Service Director at VINCI Autoroutes.

Vinci Autoroutes aims to equip 100% of its service areas with operational charging points by 2023.
