Hilton Hotels Order 20,000 Tesla Charging Stations

The American hotel chain will equip all its locations across North America with universal Tesla chargers.

Better late than never. Nonetheless, the communication from the famous American hotel brand Hilton is surprising. It explains – as if discovering it – that having charging stations in a hotel has become a high-priority criterion for guests, just like Wi-Fi was about twenty years ago.

This late awareness might not be entirely genuine, we hope! It likely serves as a pretext to ride on Tesla’s popularity, since Hilton has announced it has ordered the installation of 20,000 universal electric chargers with a single power of 11 kW. These stations will therefore be compatible with all electric vehicles other than Tesla.

In France, many new destinations have already recognized the commercial potential offered by charging stations: supermarkets, restaurants, and remote villages are equipping themselves to attract visitors – and thus encourage consumption – from electric vehicle owners.

These stations will be installed in 2024 at 2,000 locations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and will be free for guests. This initial decision will allow at least 6 chargers per hotel, a volume that will eventually be insufficient. But it is already a welcomed first step… albeit late for Hilton.
