Tesla Model Y Supercharger recharge

For new customers, Tesla launches an offer of 10,000 km of charging on Superchargers. But not with all models.

To attract customers from BMW, Mercedes, or Audi, the American brand had a great carrot: free charging. Indeed, Tesla offered lifetime charging for all its Model S and Model X customers until 2017, and only through referrals afterward. But since then, and due to the company’s success (and loss of revenue), the offer has disappeared. Not completely, as Tesla is reintroducing a free charging offer, but under certain conditions.

Only for new cars

It was through an email that the US company announced this special offer for the end of 2022. It provides 10,000 km of free charging at Supercharger rapid stations. This distance appears as credits in January 2023 on the Tesla account. These credits must be used within two years at most, and cannot be transferred to another vehicle or account, adds the brand.

The free charging offer only applies to new vehicles delivered between December 15 and 31. If you order now through the website configurator, access is impossible since delivery times are several weeks.

Demonstration Teslas at low prices to take advantage

There is an alternative, as Tesla also invites you via the same email to browse demonstration electric cars. These are new vehicles with less than 50 km on the odometer, but priced €5,000 lower than the catalog price. For example, a Tesla Model 3 RWD is available at €48,490 instead of €53,490 today, with immediate delivery, including the 10,000 km of free charging. The same applies to Tesla Model Y, with discounts of around €2,000. The RWD version is priced at €47,990, versus €49,990 new.

The other versions, Long Range or Performance, are at the same price as the new models, but available for immediate delivery. Finally, no Tesla Model S or Model X demonstration vehicles are available.
