Fastned station

In France, it’s the first time that Fastned is establishing itself outside of highway service areas.

The demand for charging infrastructure is currently very high. Many companies are looking to position themselves to take advantage of the great potential of this market. This is for example the case of Fastned, which now aims to expand its network of fast chargers to urban or peri-urban areas.

Thanks to an agreement signed with Magidas & Riumy Immobilier, the Dutch company will be able to install two rapid charging stations near Paris. One will be located in the commune of Vert-Saint-Denis, and the other will be near Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, in the Z.A.C of la Croix Blanche.

300 km of range in 15 minutes

Each station will have 8 to 10 fast charging points. Fastned promises that they will allow up to 300 kilometers of range to be recovered in just 15 minutes. The company has not, however, announced the opening date.

Currently, the price for charging on a Fastned station is set at 59 cents per kWh. With the Gold subscription at 11.99 euros per month, the cost drops to 45 cents per kWh. The stations operated by this provider can deliver a current of up to 300 kW.

While roads are still often equipped with slow charging infrastructures and many electric vehicle owners do not have a charging point at home, we are proud to offer fast charging solutions for their daily commute,” said Pierre Courgeon, director of Fastned in France.

Electra already working on it

Fastned is not the only operator trying to address the issue of urban charging. Electra plans to install fast chargers in Paris, the Île-de-France region, and other regional cities within the coming months. The installations will be located in Indigo parking lots, a company with which Electra has formed a partnership for this purpose.
