Better than Tesla, Ford offers 3 years of charging!

Ford launches an initiative aimed at making home charging simpler and cheaper for its electric vehicle customers.

In partnership with Octopus Energy, a 100% green electricity provider, Ford offers up to three years of free charging for its private customers, depending on their profile.

Current owners of a Ford electric vehicle can benefit from one year of free charging by subscribing to the “Intelligent Octopus” offer. Those who purchase a new Ford electric model through the Power Promise program can receive up to three years of home charging. The offer includes a welcome bonus of €175 and a discount of €0.12 per kWh used for charging managed through the Octopus app, translating to an estimated average annual saving of over €250.

The dedicated app allows users to schedule their charging needs by specifying the desired battery level and departure time. The system then charges at the most economical and environmentally friendly times, without disrupting user comfort.

As 80% of electric vehicle charging occurs at home, this offer aims to further simplify this key step while controlling costs. It’s a welcome boost to encourage the adoption of electric mobility.

However, be cautious not to overestimate the generosity of the offer: three years of charging means just over €500 in savings. A modest amount in the context of a new vehicle, but it primarily underscores one thing: driving electric is really cheaper. And perhaps that is the real message.
