Citroën C3 Aircross National Navy: A Unique Concept to Celebrate 400 Years of the Navy

For the 400th anniversary of the French Navy, Citroën reveals a spectacular revamped C3 Aircross, designed as a true sea/land intervention vehicle.

On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the French Navy, Citroën presents an unprecedented show car called C3 Aircross Marine nationale. More than just a styling exercise, this concept illustrates the partnership between the two French institutions by offering a more robust and adventurous interpretation of the compact SUV.

Designed by the Citroën Design teams in collaboration with the French Navy, this vehicle draws inspiration from rescue and intervention missions conducted on land. The C3 Aircross adopts a reinforced silhouette with redesigned bumpers, widened wheel arches, and 17-inch wheels fitted with all-terrain tires intended for navigating difficult terrains.

The Navy in the Spotlight

The maritime universe is omnipresent in the details. The bodywork showcases a stormy blue complemented by a gray roof reminiscent of the vessels of the French Navy. Commemorative graphic elements, such as the marking “400 years of the French Navy” and a rosette adorned with an anchor, emphasize the institutional character of this unique model.

The functional aspect has not been overlooked. An imposing roof rack allows for transporting diver equipment, while the towing hooks take inspiration from the designs of ship mooring cleats. Additionally, the specific fog lights evoke the old signaling lamps used to communicate in Morse code between vessels.

Inside, the atmosphere is just as immersive. The red lighting recalls that used in submarines to preserve the visual references of crews during operations. The seats receive specific materials along with logos celebrating the 400 years of the French Navy, while a discreet blue-white-red trim runs across the dashboard.

Beyond the spectacular nature of this beautiful styling exercise, this show car pays tribute to four centuries of history, innovation, and service of the Navy.
