Tour de France Guide: Lineups of Five Teams

Before the start of the Tour de France 2023, on July 1st, Mobiwisy introduces five of the twenty-two teams participating in the race, totaling 176 riders. 

Several stakes will be present this year: Will Jonas Vingegaard maintain his title at the expense of Tadej Pogacar? Will Peter Sagan win the green jersey? For now, the only certainty is the team compositions. 

Cofidis 

Cofidis, one of the five French teams participating, will be led by Guillaume Martin, who has consistently been in the TOP 15 between 2019 and 2021. 

A team composed of: 

Guillaume Martin (FRA, 30 years), Ion Izagirre (ESP, 34 years), Alexis Renard (FRA, 24 years), Bryan Coquard (FRA, 31 years), Axel Zingle (FRA, 24 years), Anthony Perez (FRA, 32 years), Victor Lafay (FRA, 27 years), Simon Geschke (GER, 37 years).

Arkéa-Samsic 

Arkéa’s leader, as for many years, is the French Warren Barguil. He was accompanied by Nairo Quintana in previous years, but the Colombian has not found a team and will not be on the Tour with the French team. Noteworthy is the first appearance of Clément Champoussin, Simon Guglielmi, and Jenthe Biermans.

Luca Mozzato (ITA, 25 years), Warren Barguil (FRA, 31 years), Jenthe Biermans (BEL, 27 years), Simon Guglielmi (FRA, 25 years), Anthony Delaplace (FRA, 33 years), Clément Champoussin (FRA, 25 years), Matis Louvel (FRA, 23 years), Laurent Pichon (FRA, 36 years).

Total Energie 

Since 2022, the Slovak Peter Sagan has been riding for the French team, and it is time for him to say goodbye to the Grande Boucle. He will be the leader this year. Pierre Latour will be present to aim for stage wins.

Edvald Boasson Hagen (NOR, 36 years), Mathieu Burgaudeau (FRA, 24 years), Steff Cras (BEL, 27 years), Valentin Ferron (FRA, 25 years), Pierre Latour (FRA, 29 years), Daniel Oss (ITA, 36 years), Peter Sagan (SVK, 33 years), Anthony Turgis (FRA, 29 years).

Lotto Dstny 

The powerhouse of this team is none other than Caleb Ewan, one of the best sprinters in the world. He has claimed five victories on the Tour de France since his first participation. Victor Campenaerts will try to win stages, just like Caleb Ewan for sprints.

Caleb Ewan (AUS, 28 years), Maxim Van Gils (BEL, 23 years), Florian Vermeersch (BEL, 24 years), Jacopo Guarnieri (ITA, 35 years), Frédérik Frison (BEL, 30 years), Pascal Eenkhoorn (NED, 26 years), Jasper De Buyst (BEL, 29 years), Victor Campenaerts (BEL, 31 years).

Ineos Grenadier 

Formerly Sky, Ineos Grenadier aims to regain its winning spirit. The last to win with the team was Geraint Thomas, who is not present at the Tour this year. Ineos relies on experienced riders, but also on young talents, notably Tom Pidcock, possibly the best descender in the peloton.

Egan Bernal (COL, 26 years), Jonathan Castroviejo (ESP, 36 years), Omar Fraile (ESP, 32 years), Michal Kwiatkowski (POL, 33 years), Daniel Martinez (COL, 27 years), Tom Pidcock (GBR, 23 years), Carlos Rodriguez (ESP, 22 years), Ben Turner (GBR, 24 years).
