Solex and Versailles join forces for a capsule collection of electric bikes combining innovation and royal heritage.
Solex, an iconic bike brand in France, has just announced an unprecedented collaboration with the City of Versailles for the launch of a capsule collection of electric bikes. Inspired by the architecture and history of the famous royal city, this collection offers an elegant reinterpretation of Solex bikes, blending tradition and technology.
This collaboration, titled Solex x Versailles, is the result of a year of joint work between the Rebirth Group, owner of Solex, and the teams of the City of Versailles. The goal was to create a range of bikes inspired by the historical symbols of Versailles, while remaining true to the Solex design heritage. This collection thus sits at the crossroads of two worlds: that of electric mobility, which is on the rise, and that of French heritage.
Models with symbolic design
The three models offered in this capsule collection are the Royal Blue, the Flamboyant, and the Purple Violet. Each bike is inspired by historical elements related to Versailles, such as the royal blue of the throne of France or Louis XIV’s passion for orange blossoms. These visual details are complemented by modern technology with electric bikes equipped with BAFANG motors, weighing 24 kg and featuring a battery offering 5 levels of assistance. The price of the models is set at €1999 including tax.
This collection is made in France, at the factory in Saint-Lô in Manche, highlighting the French craftsmanship. It has been available since October 15, through the Solex dealer network as well as in concept stores, with the ambition to reach a national and international clientele.
This partnership between a brand rooted in the French cycling tradition and an iconic site like Versailles underscores the growing importance of sustainable mobility in cultural heritage.
