What is the best-selling foreign car brand in France?

Toyota remains the 4th best-selling brand among private individuals, and the top foreign brand, with a market share of 7.5%.

The “made in France” Toyota SUV, the Yaris Cross, becomes the brand’s best-selling model in France, reinforcing its position as a leader in “Made in France automobiles.” Manufactured since 2021 at the Valenciennes plant of Toyota Motor Manufacturing France and certified as “France Origin Guarantee,” the Yaris Cross will receive a new hybrid engine of 130 in 2024. Evidence of the model’s success, the Yaris Cross and Yaris Hybrid account for 51% of the total sales volume of the Japanese manufacturer.

Sales of used vehicles to private individuals within the Toyota network continue to grow in 2023, with 68,000 vehicles labeled Toyota Occasions, a 5% increase compared to 2022 in a stable market. For the premium brand of the group, there are 4,100 vehicles labeled Lexus Preference, with a 92% electrified mix.

Additionally, Toyota launched its first micromobility offer, the Cargo Verso, in October, in partnership with Douze Cycles, France’s leading cargo bike company.
