The Renault Captur adopts Dacia’s magic formula
Renault applies a strategy proven by Dacia: drastically reducing the cost of ownership without sacrificing range or performance.
Renault uses a recipe on the Captur that has greatly contributed to Dacia’s success in recent years: LPG as a leverage for purchasing power. With the arrival of the Renault Captur Eco-G 120 hp, the urban SUV is equipped with a dual-fuel petrol/LPG engine that is both economical, ecological, and particularly versatile.
Already popular in the Dacia range, this LPG solution meets the current expectations of drivers: controlling fuel budget, great range, and a credible alternative to electrified engines. The new Eco-G 120 engine, derived from the TCe 1.2 turbo three-cylinder petrol block, delivers 120 hp and 200 Nm of torque, which is an increase of 20 hp and 30 Nm compared to the Eco-G 100 it replaces.
Less CO2 for the same enjoyment
When operating on LPG, the Renault Captur LPG emits a contained 117 g of CO2/km, which is about 10% less than an equivalent petrol version. Another major asset: range. With its two separate tanks of 48 liters of petrol and 50 liters of LPG (+25%), the Captur Eco-G can travel up to 1,400 km without refueling, a rare argument in the compact SUV segment.
Financially, LPG remains the secret weapon of this offer. With a fuel cost up to 50% lower than petrol and consumption controlled at 10 to 20% more (starting at 7.2 l/100 km on LPG), the Captur applies Dacia’s philosophy while maintaining Renault’s stature. Moreover, this version is offered from €26,400 or €210/month, with no price increase compared to the Eco-G 100.
Renault relies on over 15 years of LPG expertise to offer a reliable first-fit solution, integrated directly at the factory. A profitable strategy: by 2025, nearly 5,700 Renault Captur LPG have been registered in France.
