New Hyundai Tucson: It Changes Everything!

Hyundai unveils the fifth generation of its Tucson. Larger, much boxier, and featuring a completely revamped interior.

The new Hyundai Tucson is not just a minor facelift. Six years after the introduction of the current generation, Hyundai is deeply renewing one of its most important models, with a fifth generation that changes both its silhouette and interior ambiance.

The 2027 Hyundai Tucson adopts the “Art of Steel” stylistic language of the Korean manufacturer. The complex shapes of its predecessor disappear in favor of a much boxier and sturdier body. At the front, vertical daytime running lights in the shape of an H accompany a thin horizontal light signature.

Everything is changing!

The SUV is also growing. Measuring 4.70 m in length, 1.905 m in width, and 2.785 m in wheelbase, it gains 60, 40, and 30 mm respectively. Hyundai announces an additional 29 mm of rear headroom. The rear doors can now open up to 83 degrees, compared to 73 previously, making it easier to install a child seat.

The interior of the new Tucson evolves just as profoundly. The horizontal dashboard hosts the new Pleos Connect multimedia environment, accompanied by a digital instrument cluster facing the driver. Good news for those annoyed by all-touch controls: Hyundai retains physical buttons for several important functions. Additionally, two smartphones can be charged simultaneously via induction.

Hyundai has also presented a Tucson XRT version with a more adventurous look, featuring protective elements, distinctive bumpers, and wheels.

However, one important unknown remains: the powertrains. Hyundai has not yet detailed their characteristics. Electrification is expected to logically remain at the core of the range, but power levels, consumption, and potential electric range remain to be confirmed.

The new Hyundai Tucson will begin its international career in 2027.
