Hypercar NILU27: You won’t see anything more beautiful in the future!
The NILU27 project aims to be the purest form of automobile: 1000-horsepower atmospheric V12 with a manual transmission.
While the Hypercar world is rapidly electrifying, a new brand is shaking the sector’s certainties. Its name: Nilu27. Its (modest) ambition: to restore driving’s mechanical authenticity, far from digital artifices and oversized batteries. Behind this vision is a well-known figure among automotive design enthusiasts: Sasha Selipanov, former of Bugatti, Koenigsegg, and Lamborghini.
With his wife Inna, the designer founded Nilu27 around a simple concept: creating “the ultimate hypercar,” blending beauty, brutality, and pure driving experience. The brand’s name, a combination of their daughters’ names (Nica and Lucia) and the number 27, a nod to the number displayed on Gilles Villeneuve and Jean Alesi’s Ferraris, symbolizes an intimate yet ambitious project.

NILU27, a total freedom of thought!

Unveiled in 2024 during Monterey Car Week, the NILU hypercar immediately captured attention: feline silhouette, muscular proportions, and lines of surgical precision. An aesthetic where “form follows function,” directly inspired by Bauhaus and racing.
At a time when thermal engines are under threat, NILU stands as a manifesto. Under its sculpted body hides a 6.5-liter atmospheric V12, developed in partnership with Hartley Engines in New Zealand. It delivers 1,070 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and 860 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, in a mechanical symphony nearing extinction.
This engine is paired with a 7-speed manual gearbox from CIMA, with an apparent grille. All for a dry weight announced at 1,200 kg, and a top speed limited to 400 km/h. The technical sheet is dizzying:
• Carbon monocoque chassis and aluminum subframe
• Pushrod double wishbone suspension
• Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes
• Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires

Lahr, new nerve center
To realize its dream, Nilu27 established its operational headquarters and R&D center in Lahr, Germany. A strategic location at the heart of the European automotive triangle: near Stuttgart, Munich, Frankfurt, Zurich, and Strasbourg, as well as a dense network of Tier 1 suppliers.
With the support of the municipality, the brand will even benefit from access to the local airport for road and aerodynamic testing. This setup precedes the debut of the first rolling pre-production prototype, scheduled for 2026.
Since the opening of orders in late 2024, 30% of the 69 units planned have already been reserved. An impressive figure, especially considering the car has yet to be displayed in motion. To celebrate this success, Nilu27 launched a “Founder’s Edition” program, allowing early customers to configure their vehicle either for road use or in an unhomologated version, closer to the original concept.
Some Anglo-Saxon media have already dubbed the NILU “the antithesis of the Cybertruck.” Where Elon Musk’s and Tesla’s vehicle embodies over-digitization and austerity, Sasha Selipanov’s creation celebrates the sensuality of shapes, the music of metal, and the nobility of mechanical gesture.
The next rendezvous? Las Vegas, in November 2025, to see the nearly final version of the NILU27.
