Future Toyota C-HR: a concept as a teaser
This page is translated from the original post "Futur Toyota C-HR : un concept en guise d’amuse-bouche" in French.

The next generation of Toyota C-HR is expected to arrive in 2023. In the meantime, Toyota provides an outline through a very realistic concept.
In just a few years, the C-HR has become a key model in the urban SUV segment. Driven by bold styling and a hybrid powertrain that fits current trends, the vehicle has attracted nearly 600,000 customers in Europe since 2016.
Since the formula works, Toyota had no reason to change it. The C-HR Prologue confirms that the new C-HR will follow the style of its predecessor. While it is only a concept, it is a very close preview of what the final model will look like.
A Toyota C-HR Prologue designed in southern France
The C-HR Prologue was designed in France, at Toyota’s design center in Nice. Compared to the current model on sale, the lines are even more streamlined and simpler. The lighting signature has completely changed, both at the front and rear.

The shortened overhangs and the inclined tailgate energize the vehicle’s silhouette. The so-called “hammer head” front section recalls the BZ4x and might suggest that the new model will switch to electric. However, that will not be the case: the second-generation C-HR will remain faithful to hybrid technology, at least in Europe. Like the new Prius, it will offer a PHEV powertrain that provides a few dozen kilometers of all-electric driving. A conventional hybrid version will also be available. We will need to wait a few more months to learn the technical specifications.
Toyota has not yet announced its schedule, but it is likely that the final version of the new C-HR will be revealed soon, probably next year. The first units could also roll off the production lines in 2023.
