A Year of All Records for MG!

With a total of 34,441 registrations, the Chinese-flagged automaker MG achieved a historic 2023 in France.

An upsurge driven by the success of its 100% electric lineup, which accounts for 80.5% of its sales. MG Motor’s breakthrough is even more evident in December, with the brand entering the Top 10 of the overall market, delivering 8,140 vehicles. This makes it the 2^nd player in the electric market, and the 9^th in the all-energy market.

The target of 25,000 deliveries for MG Motor, announced at the beginning of the year, was greatly exceeded by the French subsidiary of the manufacturer. While forecasts predicted a doubling of its market share in 2023, MG went well beyond expectations to set a new record in France with 34,441 registrations, a 161.5% increase compared to the previous year. An unprecedented breakthrough for a manufacturer that only had a distribution network three years ago.

Launched in October 2022, the MG4 changed the game for MG Motor, with 20,510 deliveries this year. It became the best-selling compact electric vehicle in the French market in its first full year of sales. This demonstrates the appetite among car buyers for versatile and affordable 100% electric vehicles. MG Motor is thus ranked 5^th in the electric market, representing 9.1% of electric vehicle sales in France.

In 2023, MG achieved 69.9% of its sales to private individuals, the most profitable and healthiest sales channel for an automaker, ranking 11^th in the overall private market, and 3^rd for electric vehicles.

December was particularly successful for MG Motor, with 8,140 deliveries in that month alone. MG is ranked 7^th in the overall market and second in the electric market.
