Tesla Model Y Standard Officially Eligible for the CEE Bonus

Until now theoretical, the 3,180 euro Boost granted as a CEE Bonus is now official in France on the Model Y Standard.

It was only a matter of time, but in doubt, Tesla customers could postpone their order. It is now official: the 3,180 euro CEE Bonus, eligible for electric vehicles produced in Europe, is valid for the new Model Y Standard.

This version, launched in early October and which implies the disappearance of the Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive, is very divisive. Certainly more affordable – its price drops to 36,824 euros depending on the region and registration tax cost – the Model Y Standard is criticized for the removal of too many features.

In Comparison with the Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive

Priced from 39,990 euros before the CEE Bonus, it finally creates a price difference with the rest of the Model Y range. The Premium Rear-Wheel Drive (formerly Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive), priced from 46,990 euros, is ultimately charged from 43,810 euros (still depending on your region). That is an extra cost of 6,986 euros compared to the Standard version. The sales argument thus starts to become interesting for Tesla. But here, another issue arises.

Indeed, by discounting its Model Y like this, Tesla is shaking up its Model 3 sedan, which benefits, until December 31, 2025, from a manufacturer bonus of 3,100 euros.

With this rebate, the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive falls to 36,554 euros, giving an advantage of 270 euros. This is very slight, but conversely, the equipment of this entry-level electric sedan is far superior to that of the Model Y Standard.

Ultimately, the question is simple: is it better to buy a fully equipped Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive or a stripped-down Model Y?
