Nissan Townstar EV

After halting the production of the e-NV200, Nissan is equipping itself with a new electric utility vehicle.

Almost identical to the Renault Kangoo, the Nissan Townstar is also offered in a fully electric version. Powered by a 45 kWh battery, the Franco-Japanese utility vehicle promises a range of 300 km (WLTP cycle).

Although it features a specific grille and bumper, this electric Townstar differs little from the combustion versions. Its electric motor delivers 122 hp and 245 Nm of torque. A 22 kW onboard charger is standard on all versions. When using a DC socket, the Townstar EV accepts up to 80 kW of current, enabling it to recover 150 km of range in 25 minutes.

The electric utility vehicle accommodates a payload of 600 to 800 kilos and can tow up to 1,500 kilos. The rear cabin volume varies from 3.3 to 4.9 m3. These figures depend on the chosen configuration.

Numerous Driving Aids

Despite being a utility vehicle, the Nissan Townstar EV offers some technological features, such as the semi-autonomous driving system ProPILOT Assist, blind spot warning, hands-free parking, adaptive cruise control, intelligent emergency braking, and lane keeping assist in lateral wind. It also includes a system to limit trailer sway. Optional features include a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, as well as heated steering wheel, windshield, and front seats.

The Townstar EV takes over from the e-NV200, which was discontinued in 2021.

The Nissan Townstar EV is manufactured in France, in the Maubeuge factory. It is guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000 km. Currently, prices have not yet been announced, but it is likely they will be close to those of the electric Kangoo, starting at €33,600 excluding taxes. As a reminder, electric utility vehicles are eligible for a €5,000 bonus.
