The MG Cybersters Arrive in Showrooms!

The first deliveries of the Cyberster will soon begin in Great Britain. France is expected to follow shortly.

The MG Cyberster is finally arriving in Europe and is coming to France in an exceptional context. Why? Because the ecological tax applied to thermal vehicles has eliminated all competition from combustion engines. Keep in mind that starting from 194 grams of CO2 / km, the tax reaches 60,000 euros! Today, the cheapest Porsche Boxster (the target market for the MG Cyberster) is priced over 127,000 euros in France. You have a choice between a Boxster and two Cybersters, which one will you choose?

The United Kingdom, MG’s leading market in Europe, has kicked things off immediately followed by Denmark, a fertile ground for battery-powered cars. France and continental Europe will follow in the coming months. Across the Channel, two versions are currently available for order today.

An unbeatable price?

First up is the MG Cyberster Trophy, with a starting price of £54,995, or about 64,200 euros. Next is the MG Cyberster GT, priced at £59,995, approximately 70,000 euros. In both cases, the first deliveries are expected in August of this year, which is a very short waiting time!

The warranty is for 7 years and 80,000 miles (128,000 kilometers), something no established thermal competitor would dare offer.

The Trophy version features butterfly doors and a retractable roof that opens at speeds up to 50 km/h in under 15 seconds. Power is delivered through the rear wheels only. The power reaches 250 kW (340 horsepower) and 475 Nm of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is promised in 5 seconds.

The GT version performs even better: 375 kW (510 horsepower!) and 725 Nm of torque! It features all-wheel drive, with acceleration to 100 km/h achieved in 3.2 seconds. Who can beat that? The battery has a capacity of 77 kWh, with respective ranges in WLTP mixed cycle of 508 and 445 km. However, the charging is not particularly fast, with a power of up to 150 kW. We’ve seen better in this segment.

The dynamics promise to be impressive, with braking provided by Brembo and tires from Pirelli (19 or 20-inch wheels depending on the version). Finally, for a romantic weekend getaway, the trunk offers 249 liters, which is equivalent to two carry-on suitcases on a plane.

Five exterior colors are offered: yellow, red, two shades of gray, and pearl. Similarly, the soft top can be black or red, depending on the colors. Inside, there are two possible combinations: red and gray.
