Kia Concept EV4, the Tesla Model 3 Killer?

The Korean manufacturer took advantage of its annual Kia EV Day to showcase the EV4 concept, a futuristic sedan with an eye-catching look.

Although there is little chance of seeing a Kia EV4 on the roads in this concept version, Kia has proven that it is not afraid to dare to transpose its wildest concept cars into reality. The EV5 is a good example, as the series version retains many elements seen on the prototypes.

The four-door layout naturally places this Kia in the sedan category and targets it at the Tesla Model 3. However, the sloping front hood, slim and dynamic silhouette, and the very aerodynamic rear third give it an undeniable sporting dynamic. Overall, it resembles more an Audi R8 than a Ceed or even an XCeed.

The headlights pushed to the corners and the massive fenders further enhance the sporty impression.

The interior is stripped to the extreme, with only a panel occupying two-thirds of the dashboard. For example, the climate controls disappear into the central console to avoid disrupting the overall effect of extreme simplicity. No buttons on the steering wheel, no stalks—it’s certainly just a concept car, but if Telsa can do it on their production models, why not Kia?

The Kia EV4 concept features a “Mind Modes” function that adjusts the overall ambiance to your current mood, mainly through modulation of ambient lighting and ventilation modes. In “Performance” mode, the driver receives all the information needed to maximize the vehicle’s capabilities.
