Honda: Electric HR-V and Return of the Hybrid Civic
This page is translated from the original post "Honda : HR-V électrique et retour de la Civic hybride" in French.

Heading towards 40% electric by 2030 by converting the HR-V, Honda prefers to develop hybrids with the new Civics, CR-V, and an all-new SUV.
Honda aims to accelerate the shift, to reach 40% electric (and hydrogen) sales by 2030. Then this figure would increase to 80% by 2035 and 100% by 2040. But from 2022, its entire European lineup is electrified.
The small Honda e city car is currently the only electric vehicle in the catalog. The urban Jazz, the two SUVs HR-V and CR-V, operate with hybrid versions.
Return of the Civic, only in hybrid
This fall, the first new feature is the return of the famous Civic sedan. The 11th generation, already available in North America, will be back with a hybrid, just as it was 16 years ago.

This unique e:HEV model of 181 horsepower and 315 Nm combines a 2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with two electric motors. The Japanese sedan aims for less than 110 g/km of CO2 and 5 liters/100 km. On the technology side, the 100° wide-angle camera would detect any obstacle, 10 airbags will deploy in case of collision, and the 9-inch central screen will support Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay.
For those interested, the Honda Civic e:HEV will be displayed at the Lyon Motor Show from April 7 to 11.
An electric HR-V to shake up the 2008
In electric, the HR-V will have a 100% electric version. For now, it is shown as the e:Ny1 prototype, reshaping its sill, but it is essentially the same vehicle. Segment B, this model should compete in 2023 with the Renault Mégane E-Tech, Peugeot e-2008, or Kia E-Niro.

Between these two vehicles, another C-segment SUV will be new, coming from the future American HR-V. Sized similarly to a Peugeot 3008 or the Renault Austral, it will also feature an e:HEV hybrid system. Its launch is scheduled for 2023, at an as-yet-unknown price.
As for the large CR-V, the new generation of 2023 will have two hybrid versions. The first will be, like the current version, e:HEV hybrid. The second will be plug-in hybrid, the first of its kind for Honda.
