An Incredible New Record for Koenigsegg
At Koenigsegg, we love two things above all: accelerating really fast and braking really hard. And doing both is even better!
Koenigsegg set a new world record for 0-400-0 km/h on June 27 at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden. If you are not familiar with the exercise, it consists of taking the least amount of time possible to accelerate to 400 km/h and then braking to a complete stop. Very simple, but one must have a car capable of reaching 400 km/h and whose brakes won’t explode during deceleration.

In 2023, at the same airfield, the Koenigsegg Regera had reclaimed the world record for 0-400-0 km/h with a time of 28.81 seconds. This time, Koenigsegg returned with a Jesko to try again and improve slightly.
Stop, Go, Stop!
The Jesko in Absolut trim is a true “straight-line car” in the noblest sense. Its bodywork is designed for minimal internal airflow, specifically targeted for high-pressure air release. No active aerodynamic systems, just a minimalist aero design aimed at minimizing drag. As a result, the Jesko Absolut generates particularly low drag for a hypercar, with a record Cx of only 0.278. This minimal drag coefficient allowed the Jesko Absolut to complete the 0-400-0 km/h in just 27.83 seconds, nearly a second less than the previous record set by the Regera in 2023.
In fact, in a single run, from a standstill to 412 km/h and back to zero, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut also shattered the 0 to 400 km/h record in just 18.82 seconds.
The car used was a strictly stock Jesko Absolut running on E85 fuel and equipped with standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires. The only modifications made to the car were the addition of a roll cage for the driver’s safety.
