BYD Seal: €6,600 Discount for an Electric Car That Still Has Its Merits

The BYD Seal may no longer have the freshness of a new model, but it still retains undeniable qualities. With a discount of €6,600 in France, this electric sedan deserves to be back in the selection of buyers.

In a market where launches succeed one another, established models often fall into the background. Launched in Europe since 2023, the BYD Seal still boasts a compelling technical specification. Its price has also become more attractive: the Design trim benefits from a customer advantage of €6,600, bringing its price down to €41,390.

BYD even shows a price of €41,025 when including a CEE bonus of €365, subject to eligibility. This offer is for individuals through participating distributors.

A propulsion that remains responsive

This version develops 313 hp, transmitted to the rear wheels. The time from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.9 seconds: more than enough to ensure vigorous accelerations without seeking the performance of the all-wheel-drive variant. Its Blade battery of 82.5 kWh uses lithium iron phosphate chemistry, while the announced range reaches 570 km in the mixed WLTP cycle. This homologation figure should obviously be distinguished from the range on the highway.

Qualities to consider beyond the discount

Fast charging is capped at 150 kW, with a stated range increase from 30 to 80% in 26 minutes. Be careful to note this range: it is not a measured time from 10 to 80%. The onboard charger also accepts 11 kW in AC current.

The Seal thus retains solid arguments: power, homologated range, and a heat pump as standard. Its six-year or 150,000 km manufacturer warranty completes the package. While not a new model, it remains a proposition to consider for those seeking an electric sedan rather than an SUV. The reduction today enhances this interest.
