Renault Trafic Electric: 470 km of range and a recharge during lunch?

Made in France and expected before the end of 2026, the new Renault Trafic electric promises about 470 km of range and up to 280 km recovered in twenty minutes. Here’s the essential.

An electric van capable of making runs without multiplying recharge stops? That’s the promise of the new Renault Trafic Van E-Tech electric, presented at the IAA Transportation fair in Hanover. Manufactured in Sandouville, it will be available before the end of 2026. The chassis cab and double cab versions will arrive in 2027.

Range and charging: the promises of the electric Trafic

With its 81 kWh battery, the new Renault Trafic electric announces about 470 km of range. Note that this value is still awaiting confirmation via WLTP approval. In urban circulation, Renault even mentions nearly 690 km: enough to space out the charging for professionals making local runs.

Its 800-volt electric architecture should primarily shorten stops. The manufacturer promises up to 280 km of range recovered in twenty minutes. A recharge during lunch becomes therefore feasible, provided you have a suitable charging station and favorable conditions.

Loading, dimensions, price: what you need to remember

The shift to electric retains the essentials of the trade: up to 5.8 m³ of usable volume, 1.3 tons of payload, and two tons of towing capacity. The van accommodates three euro pallets, with a loading threshold at 53 cm.

In the city, its turning diameter of 10.3 meters will facilitate maneuvers. Its height of 1.89 meters will also allow access to many underground parking lots.

The Trafic can power electric tools thanks to its V2L function. Its computer architecture will also allow for added functionalities through updates.

And the price? Renault does not specify it in this announcement but states that the total cost of ownership will be up to 10% lower than that of an equivalent combustion vehicle. A promise that professionals will need to verify based on their mileage and charging possibilities.
