Fiat Commercial Vehicles Relaunches the Tricycle!
With the TRIS, Fiat brings the three-wheeled utility vehicle back to life with a modern electric interpretation.
Unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show 2026, the Fiat Professional TRIS is part of a long tradition of utility tricycles that have marked the history of professional mobility. Long before the era of compact vans, this type of vehicle was an essential work tool for artisans, merchants, and delivery services, especially in Southern Europe. Fiat itself has significantly contributed to this history with iconic models like the Ape, produced for decades and becoming a reference in urban centers and rural areas.
Developed by the Stellantis Design Centre in Italy, the TRIS translates this heritage into a contemporary context dominated by challenges related to traffic, noise, and local emissions. Fully electric, this three-wheeled vehicle is designed for short-distance urban use, particularly for last-mile delivery. Its compact format, with a length of 3.17 meters and a turning radius of 3.05 meters, makes it easy to maneuver in narrow streets and high-density traffic zones.
A Fiat Simply Pro
Despite its small size, the TRIS boasts an approved payload capacity of up to 540 kg and a loading area of approximately 2.25 m², compatible with the transport of a standard euro pallet. It is offered in three configurations – chassis-cabin, flatbed, and pick-up – to meet various professional needs.
The powertrain is based on a 48-volt electric motor generating up to 9 kW peak power and 45 Nm of torque, with a maximum speed limited to 45 km/h. The 6.9 kWh lithium battery provides an announced range of 90 km according to the WMTC cycle. Charging is done via a standard 220 V household plug, without specific equipment, with a charging time from 0 to 80% of about 3 hours and 30 minutes. A regenerative braking system contributes to energy efficiency.
