Tesla invites you to try FSD autonomous driving in France!

From December 1 to 31, 2025, Tesla invites the French to safely test its FSD software in its electric vehicles.

Tesla takes a new step in presenting its autonomous driving technology. While Europe remains cautious about allowing driverless vehicles, the American manufacturer is organizing a series of demonstrations at ten of its French centers. From Nantes to Lyon, passing through Cannes and Strasbourg, enthusiasts will be able to see Full Self-Driving (FSD) in action, comfortably seated as passengers, with a safety driver present to supervise the maneuver.

This initiative marks a concrete step toward the deployment of autonomous driving on European roads. Although current regulations still limit large-scale deployment, Tesla chooses to be proactive and offers a tangible experience to users. Registrations are already open on the brand’s official website, allowing people to book their slot for a free trial.

A unique technology for Tesla

The uniqueness of the FSD lies in its technological approach. Unlike other players in the sector, Tesla relies solely on vision, without using LIDAR sensors. According to the manufacturer, this method facilitates flexible and safe deployment in various road contexts. However, some competitors, such as Waymo, are currently more advanced thanks to the use of LIDAR for more precise environmental perception.

For Tesla, these demonstrations are not just a showcase. They are part of a strategic approach aimed at gathering safety evidence to convince European authorities to loosen current regulations. The brand believes that some current regulatory requirements are too restrictive and could even limit the system’s effectiveness.
