Kia PV5, the Electric Utility MacGyver!

Kia presented the PV5 at the SOLUTRANS show, an electric utility vehicle designed to meet a wide variety of professional uses.

Kia finally unveiled its PV5 Chassis-Cab to the public, a compact 100% electric utility vehicle – under five meters – designed as a true work platform. Capable of offering up to 1,005 kg of payload and 8 m³ of volume depending on the configuration, it focuses primarily on versatility and a design adapted for various transformations.

According to data provided by the manufacturer, the PV5 in its utility version (Cargo / Chassis-Cab) starts at €33,500 excluding tax for the base version (51.5 kWh battery, “Essential” trim, L2H1 format). Depending on the engine and options (71.2 kWh battery, higher “Plus” trim), the catalog price can rise to €38,300 excluding tax.

These prices are of course indicative as the final cost will depend on the chosen configuration (body, equipment, options, etc.). Furthermore, some financing or leasing offers are announced. For example, for the Cargo model, LOA/LLD formulas are mentioned with monthly payments starting around €197 excluding tax, depending on the offer.

An exceptional transformer

Based on the E-GMP.S platform dedicated to utilities, the PV5 has been developed in collaboration with transformation specialists to facilitate variations: flatbed, tipping truck, box for parcels, refrigerated version, or even specific adaptations. At the brand’s stand, a Food Truck based on the PV5 illustrated this capacity to change roles in just a few operations, while a Cargo example showcased the robustness of the structure.

On the technical side, the PV5 offers two batteries – 51.5 kWh at launch and 71.2 kWh in 2026 – allowing adjustment of the autonomy to professional uses. Fast charging up to 150 kW aims to reduce downtime, and a turning radius of 5.5 m confirms a focus on urban environments. The steel exoskeleton and level 2 driving aids complete a system designed for safety and daily efficiency.

Kia also took advantage of SOLUTRANS to present Kia Business Solutions, an ecosystem bringing together charging services, fleet management tools, telematics data, and replacement mobility within a single portal. The goal: to simplify the management of electric fleets, often fragmented across multiple services.
