Welcome aboard the new Renault Clio
The iconic city car from Renault returns deeply rethought, with renewed ambitions in an increasingly competitive segment.
Launched in 1990, the Renault Clio has crossed decades establishing itself as one of the pillars of the European market. With over 17 million units sold in 120 countries, it has become the best-selling French car in history. This sixth generation, which opened for orders in October, aims to extend this trajectory by profoundly renewing its design, technologies, and powertrains.

Since its beginnings, Clio has distinguished itself by its ability to reinvent itself. The first generation inaugurated the slogan “It has everything of a big one,” announcing an unprecedented rise in quality for a city car. Clio II reinforced the idea of comfort with a more “cocoon” approach. The third generation further raised the standards, notably in perceived quality and onboard equipment. Clio IV shook up style codes, while Clio V introduced a true break in the cabin with a large central screen, reflecting the rise of connected services.

Clio VI continues this logic of transformation. More visually assertive, it adopts higher proportions that position it at the top of segment B. The range of engines has also been revised. At the top, the new 160 hp full hybrid E-Tech version promises up to 40% less consumption than an equivalent gasoline block and can mainly run on electric power in cities and suburbs. At the entry-level, a 115 hp gasoline engine makes its appearance, complemented by a bi-fuel gasoline-LPG variant with 120 hp expected by the end of 2026.

On board, the city car reaches a new technological milestone. The double V-shaped OpenR screen and the OpenR Link multimedia system with integrated Google — a first in the category — modernize the user experience. Up to 29 driving assistance features are available, confirming the upscale shift of this strategic model.

With this new generation, Renault intends to consolidate Clio’s position as an essential reference in its segment.
