XTourism: The Flying Motorcycle Is No Longer Science Fiction!
This page is translated from the original post "XTurismo : la moto volante, ce n’est plus de la science-fiction !" in French.

There’s nothing better than a two–wheel to avoid traffic jams. Well, nothing better for now… Because if the XTurismo is ever approved, this flying motorcycle will become the ultimate weapon to go from point A to point B in the shortest possible time!
The XTurismo was developed by ALI Technologies, a Japanese company. At the Monaco Top Marques show, it was presented to Prince Albert II, who was able to get on it… without actually making it operate!

The teams at ALI Technologies have been working on this project since 2017. Now available for order, the XTurismo will be limited to 200 units. Of course, it’s not within everyone’s reach. It costs $777,000, roughly 670,000 euros.
A motorcycle with hybrid mechanics
The XTurismo weighs 300 kilograms. It measures 3.7 meters long, 2.4 meters wide, and 1.5 meters high. Powered by propellers, this hoverbike – that’s how this type of vehicle is called – features hybrid mechanics, composed of a 170 kW (231 hp) thermal engine and 4 electric blocks. It can rise to 2 meters above the ground in 3 seconds and then reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. Once in the air, the pilot must keep in mind that the batteries only last 40 minutes to avoid unpleasant surprises. Furthermore, it’s highly advisable to equip oneself with earplugs. The XTurismo is very loud, as shown in the video below!
The flying motorcycle is obviously not approved for the road. Is it therefore a toy reserved for circuit usage? Certainly not for ALI Technologies, which estimates that its hoverbike “could be used by rescue teams to reach hard-to-access areas in case of disaster or emergency.”.
