With more than 1,500 CE 04 registered, the German company overwhelmingly dominates the 125 cc and larger electric scooter market.

In the first half of 2022, 4,110 electric scooters equivalent to 125 cc and above were registered in France. A figure significantly lower than that recorded for the 50 cc equivalent market (8,606 units).

In this category, BMW clearly leads the discussion, thanks to its only electric two-wheeler: the inevitable CE 04. AAA Data’s figures reveal that the German manufacturer sold 1,547 units of its scooter, despite it being more expensive than most of its competitors.

The second place in the manufacturer rankings goes to Silence, far behind with 610 scooters registered in the first half. The S01 accounted for the majority of sales (446 units vs. 27 units of the S02). Meanwhile, the SEAT MO was sold at 137 units. As this scooter is a rebadged Silence, its registrations are included in Silence’s total sales.

The podium is completed by Piaggio, which sold 346 electric scooters 125 or larger in the first half. Less popular in its 50 cc version (6 registrations), the Vespa Elletrica performed slightly better in the 125 equivalent range (76 units). However, it remains far behind the Piaggio 1 (270 registrations).

Super Soco first Chinese manufacturer ahead of Niu

Fourth with 233 registrations, Super Soco is also the leading Chinese manufacturer in this ranking. With only one model (the CPX), it managed to surpass Niu, which registered 203 units across its different models. The MGT Pro alone accounted for 75% of the Chinese brand’s sales.
